The PLACÓWKA Recreation Centre, spread on the area of approximately two hectares, consists of the main building and eight timber cabins, available all the year round and centrally heated. During World War II, the main building housed a German outpost - a border post - hence the Centre`s name PLACÓWKA (Outpost).
Here all visitors may enjoy rest in peace and seclusion. They may go for walks into the nearby mountains along tourist footpaths, try a climbing route, or explore the area on a mountain bike. Tourist groups are recommended to make trips into the Tatra Mountains and the neighbouring areas, to the famous mountain lakes, and particularly to make a raft trip down the Dunajec Canyon. Worth seeing are also the historic timber regional architecture and regional folklore museums. Moreover, highly recommended is an excursion to Cracow, rich in fine historic buildings and museums, and to the ancient salt mine at Wieliczka.
In the Centre`s grounds is a spacious two-storey traditional house made of logs; it contains a fireplace, a large dance floor, as well as tables and benches to accommodate several dozen persons. It may be used for parties, as a grillroom, for reunions and music events. We welcome weekend visitors, families and groups arriving for a longer stay, as well as offer accommodation for tourist groups.
